I've been on T for about 5 months now and the face, body and voice changes are wonderful. I feel more comfortable in daily life than I have ever been.

Over the Mountain: So What Does It Feel Like to Change Your Name?

This being Day One of the rest of my life, I've asked myself and have been asked by a couple of people, "So what does it feel like now that you've changed your name legally?'

Is Isis Distancing Herself from the Trans Community?

Last Friday Larry King featured several trans guests in a show called "The Secret Life of Transgenders." Included were Alexis Arquette, Stu Rasmussen, Ryan Sallans, and Isis King.

Request: Transgender folk for upcoming podcast

I received an email from a podcaster seeking a transgender individual or two who are willing to be interviewed for an upcoming podcast.  If you are interested, please reply to

As per the earlier twitter, I’m attempting to locate someone willing to be on my podcast show, Closet Talk. Preferably, this Wednesday at 8pm Central Time as I had a cancellation somewhat last minute, but the 15th will work as well if that notice is too short. The podcast is intended to offer an inclusive forum for all members of the LGBTQA community to tell their stories, discuss their own coming out and answer questions and expose myths about the community they reside it. It is a call in show, so no travel will be required.

One particular aspect I would like to cover is a transperson’s coming out. I imagine emotionally, it is similar to a gay man’s coming out (of which I am). A few months ago I ran into an old friend of mine. When I knew him, he identified as a lesbian woman, but has since “come out” as a transman. Is that a typical progression for transpeople, to identify as gay prior to trans? That would, of course, be the focus of the conversation, but not the entirety of it.

You mention placing a call for it on the site, but I wasn’t sure what that meant. I’ll be happy to write something up for that purpose, but appreciate suggestions/information.

In solidarity,
